Institutional entrepreneurship and permaculture: A practice theory perspective

Permaculture is a growing but little researched phenomenon emphasising care for the environment, equity, fair treatment of people and working with—and not against—nature. It thus represents potential alternative to business as usual, capable addressing fundamental challenges posed by human-made climate change. The paper examines previously ignored site entrepreneurship taking practice perspective, exploring connections between growth permaculture institutional entrepreneurship. assesses practice-related factors affecting start-up operation enterprises in United Kingdom. study maps surveys UK Association members who have started up their own reports on qualitative data from personal interviews with twenty them. Data analysis employs NVivo software involves thematic pertaining practice, biographies portfolios entrepreneurs. findings show importance activists' shaping permaculture-related practice. contribution lies how it balances attention individual agency subfield-specific, organisational field macrosocial understanding ‘beyond profit’
